Herdwatch is available as a yearly membership including support and updates. If you are new to Herdwatch, you can sign up to our FREE trial by clicking HERE.
You will need to validate your card details in order to start your 30-day free trial. Don’t worry, you will NOT be charged until your trial ends, and we will email you at least 3 days before as a reminder, and if you cancel anytime during the trial, you will not be charged.
If you stick with us (as 9 out of 10 farmers who try Herdwatch do), your paid membership will start after your free trial ends, once successful payment has been processed (From £69 depending on your farm type - click here for details)
At present the only way we accept payment for Herdwatch is by credit/debit card. By paying securely using your card, we are able to set up a recurring payment so when your account is due for renewal we just charge your card again, you don’t need to do anything.
Herdwatch is fully approved by DEFRA / BCMS and has the ability to download your herd details directly from BCMS. You will need a CTS Online Account and a CTS Web Services username and password. If you have used a software provider in the past you probably already have these Web Services credentials, but they can also be requested directly from BCMS for free.
The Herdwatch farming app is free to download (you will need a valid Herdwatch membership to use it which you can get here). Most iPhones, iPads, Android phones & tablets and Computers / Laptops are compatible. (For a full list of compatible devices click here)
Apple iPhone and iPads: Click HERE from your device or go to the App store, search for Herdwatch and download it for free
Android Smartphones & tablets: (Sony, Samsung, etc) Click HERE from your device or go to the Google Play store and download Herdwatch for free
If you require Herdwatch on a PC or Laptop please contact us and we will send you a link to install it.
You will receive your password by text within 1 business day after you have signed up for Herdwatch. This password is used to sign into the app along with your mobile number. Signing in is normally a once off process unless you sign out.
Once you have signed up, we will also email you a 6-digit PIN within 1 business day. This PIN is NOT your Herdwatch password but is important as you will need it to download your animals into Herdwatch. You will also need it for all other BCMS interactions such as Calf Registration, Movements and to sync your Herd.
With Herdwatch you can register calves or apply for movement certs in less time than it takes to boil the kettle!
You can also record Medicines & Treatments for Quality Assurance compliance (including Sheep and other on-farm animals), Weights, Breeding events, Pesticides / Sprays usage.
Herdwatch is very easy to use, but if you need assistance on how to create or edit these records, simply visit the Help section in the app, and if that’s not enough contact us and we will be glad to assist.
To use most of the features you DO NOT require an internet connection!
Herdwatch has an offline mode which means almost all records (including calf details) can be created or edited without any connection. This is a vital feature to allow you to work anytime, anywhere and gives a farmer a truly mobile solution for keeping farm records.
The only time you need a connection would be to sign into the app or sign out and for BCMS interactions. Our “Backup & Sync” feature allows you to create and save records offline and they will be automatically backed up every few hours when you are in Herdwatch if an internet connection is available.
Once you have signed up to Herdwatch you can use it on as many devices as you wish, at no extra cost. Herdwatch is compatible with almost all smartphones, and also works on tablets, PCs and Laptops (For a full list of compatible devices click here).
Our “Backup & sync” feature also allows for easy flow of information from one device to another.
Yes, but not so fast…if you have any written compliance records (medicines etc…) covering previous years, you must keep those until the regulatory time has elapsed (normally 5 years, please check details of your particular scheme).
Once you start recording all your medicines in Herdwatch, this is done in a fully compliant manner so you don’t need to re-enter them in a book or on any kind of paperwork.
*Note: You should take regular backups of your Herdwatch information by running the relevant Herdwatch reports which you can then archive to a secure location for safe-keeping.
Yes, multiple herds can be managed from a single Herdwatch account.
Note: The membership is per herd, so if you own or manage more than one herd you will need a membership for each herd. Some discounts may apply for multiple herds so please contact us for more details (conditions apply).
