You know you’ve done something special when you win a Royal Award. And the Herdwatch Team did just that at the 2016 Livestock Event, winning the prestigious Prince Philip Award, with a trip to Buckingham Palace to receive the Award from HRH Prince Philip himself!
We were thrilled and honoured to have received an Innovation Merit Certificate at our first ever UK and LAMMA Show appearance in 2016. We went out to make a good impression but never imagined we would be bringing home such a recognition from the UK’s biggest Agricultural and Machinery show!
Another UK event, another award! This time, it was "Best New Product" at the 2017 Dairy Day, against very tough competition such as Dairymaster, Keenan and 9 others. Needless to say we were very happy and proud.
The first award is always special, particularly when you’re not expecting it! Winning the 2014 National Ploughing Championship Award for Software Innovation in Agriculture was a special moment. We are very thankful to the NPA, Enterprise Ireland and the Farmers’ Journal for their support early on the Herdwatch journey.
By early 2015, we had won our second Award, and a prestigious one at that, the Small Firms Association (SFA) Emerging New Business Award. Some very successful Irish businesses have won this award before, let’s hope it works for us!
Now we thought it might be hard to do better, but we went for it anyway. 300 start-ups, a 6 months process culminating in a final in March 2015, I give you the £250K AIB Start-up Academy winner… Herdwatch!
The Tipperary Local Enterprise Office has been very supportive of Herdwatch all the way, and in March 2015 rewarded us with a Technology Award. Peter Byrne, FRS Network CEO is pictured receiving the Award from Minister Alan Kelly.
Our 5th Award in a year!! Herdwatch was crowned Best Innovation in Agri-food at the 2015 Irish Internet Association (IIA) Awards. It was a hotly contested category with popular Agri News network Agriland also in the final. Pictured above is Herdwatch Co-founder Fabien Peyaud receiving the Award from Joan Mulvihil, IIA CEO
OK, we didn’t win this one, but to be honest it was (almost) just as good to make it to the 2015 Dairymaster Rural Innovation Awards final, under the mentorship of Edmond Harty, our agri-innovation “idol”, and the Farmers Journal, DARD and Teagasc industry experts.
